Intro to Finishing Workshop with The Finishing Fairy: July 25 AM & PM Sessions

Learn how to finish your own needlepoint ornament with Amanda Metes, The Finishing Fairy! We’ll be using a no-glue lacing technique and only acid-free materials, ensuring your needlepoint can be enjoyed for years to come. You’ll leave the workshop with a beautifully finished ornament and the confidence and materials needed to try it again on your own – plus access to online videos and resources to help you continue your learning journey. No previous finishing experience is necessary. 

Participants should bring

• Round classes: A completed round canvas, blocked 

• Rectangle/Square: A completed canvas, blocked 

• Special Shapes: A completed canvas, blocked 

• For all shapes: A photocopy of your canvas 

Please email a photo of your canvas to finishingfairy@gmail.com in advance if you have questions on blocking and/or extra rows. You do not need to stitch extra rows unless you have detail up to the edge you’d like to see. 

Optionally

• Bring desired backing fabric, measured 1 inch wider on all sides (6x6 for 4x4). Recommend a not stretchy material. Thin materials like quilter's cotton, velveteen, or silk work great. Materials kit includes black, white, red, and navy. 

• Two skeins of DMC Floss or DMC Pearle (only if the attendee has a color preference, materials kit includes black, white, red, and navy floss) 

• If the attendee doesn’t want to finish their own canvas, they can bring blank 18 mesh canvas
