Intro to Finishing Class: March 21

Learn how to finish your own rectangle or square ornament or hanging sign. We’ll be using a no-glue lacing technique and only acid-free materials, ensuring your needlepoint can be enjoyed for years to come. You’ll leave the workshop with a beautifully finished ornament and the confidence and materials needed to try it again on your own – plus access to online tutorials to help you continue your learning journey. No previous finishing experience is necessary. 

Participant Kit
Each participant kit includes a color printed reference guide, access to an online tutorial, and materials for class and future finishes, all housed in a high-quality, reusable vinyl zip-top bag.

Class Length:
3 hours per class

Class Dates/Options:

• March 21: Morning Session (9am-12pm) Round Shape
• March 21: Afternoon Session (1-4pm) Irregular, Rectangle/Square Shape
• Option for full day of instruction

Participants should bring:

• Round classes: A completed round canvas, blocked (smaller than 5 inches)

• Rectangle/Square: A completed canvas, blocked (smaller than 5 inches)

Optionally:

• Bring desired backing fabric, measured 1 inch wider on all sides (6x6 for 4x4). Recommend a not stretchy material. Thin materials like quilter's cotton, velveteen, or silk work great (only if the attendee has a color preference, you can also choose from a big bag on-site from your instructor)

• Two skeins of DMC Floss or DMC Pearle (only if the attendee has a color preference, you can also choose from the instructor's bag)

• If the attendee doesn’t want to finish their own canvas, they can bring blank 18 mesh canvas.
